My Squad

Sports has always played an important role in my life. It was a form of therapy. I would always turn to basketball to get my mind off things. Through my prison years I would always go to the yard and play ball. Whether it be just shooting the ball or competing, I found space for my mind to be free. As a father I realized early on that I was better at teaching life lessons through sports than any other method.

Like my mentor Richard Pullman, I fell in love with coaching, especially with my son. AJ is a good athlete, and more importantly a good and kind person. We have spent countless hours together on the fields and the courts. Its allowed me to spend time with him and his friends. I'm beyond blessed to enjoy the world of sports with my family.

Music

Another huge passion of mine is music. I grew up in a household that played a wide variety of music. From classic rock and blues legends like The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, and B.B. King, to hip hop and R&B innovators like LL Cool J, Run DMC, Tupac, New Edition and Keith Sweat. I would spend hours upon hours just daydreaming to music and taking in the beat, and I still do to this day! Every morning I wake up to and start my day with music.

As I grew into my career and got older I realized that I wanted music to be a part of my friendships, habits and even my career. That’s why my office walls are covered with musicians! If you ever want to start a conversation with me... Start with music!

My Squad

I always say that I haven't done everything right in my life, but what I did do right is raising some amazing kids. I have a 25 year old son named Jonavin who is a car salesman in Muskegon at Betten Cadillac. He bought his first home at age 23. He’s really into physical training and loves music, just like I do. Super proud of the man he became to be and will be.

I also have an 8 year old named AJ (Anthony Junior) This kid is just a ray of sunshine. He has been smiling since day 1. Very kind hearted and funny, and a really good athlete. One of the hardest working kids I have seen at his age. My goal in life is to leave a caring, loving and philanthropic legacy behind for them to follow. A road map of excellence, success and giving. They are my team!
